Symptom
Local SPAN on Nexus 3048, configured with PTP only shows ingress PTP packets and does not contain any PTP packets originating on the 3k including sync, follow up, delay request, and delay response.
Conditions
Nexus 3k running 7.0(3)I7(5).
PTP is configured.
A monitor session is configured with a source interface capturing 'both' (tx and rx).
The source interface used in the monitor session is also configured for PTP.
Workaround
There is currently no workaround for this issue.
Further Problem Description
Ingress packets from other PTP sources are seen.
Issue is not seen in previous code of 6.0(2)U6(3a) or newer code of 7.0(3)I7(9).
Despite the PTP not present in the SPAN of 7.0(3)I7(5), ptp packets are confirmed egressing as they are noted in the ptp interface counters of both the local and remote ptp interfaces. The packets are also confirmed received via ethanalyzer on the neighboring devices.
