Symptom
The existing error message "Error Could not complete LSP installation. Please try again." on Firepower Management Center (FMC) is too generic for LSP download or installation failures, leaving no room for troubleshooting and actionable items for the user.
To effectively provide the failure reason and guide the user, these changes are needed:
1. Separate error messages for download and installation failures.
2. Show reason of the failure. For instance, in case of download failures due to connectivity issues to server pdates-talos.sco.cisco.com , this error message from /var/log/sf/lsp_cpd.log can be shown:
2022/01/02 14:22:34 ERROR: Unable to reach 'https://updates-talos.sco.cisco.com'...aborting cloud update!
Conditions
LSP download or installation failure on FMC.
Workaround
Check /var/log/sf/lsp_cpd.log on FMC from expert mode:
>expert
# sudo cat /var/log/sf/lsp_cpd.log
