Symptom

The following /var/log/messages file occurs and can result in various symptoms like SFDataCorrelator or SFTunnel not running correctly. Jul 22 04:02:59 hostname SF-IMS[yyy]: [yyy] SFDataCorrelator:MySQLDatastore [ERROR] Unable to connect to database after 60 seconds: Access denied for user 'barnyard'@'localhost'

Conditions

The FTD typically gets into this failed state after a power outage, probably during a critical DB operation.

Workaround

In rare occurrences, TAC can work with Cisco DB experts to recover/repair the DB. However, the most likely outcome is to re-image the FTD sensor to recover from this DB corruption.
