Symptom
- Incorrect ACK deadline based on the Policy for Perpetual licenses
- After syncing the first RUM report via offline mode: a 365 day deadline is requested
Output seen under 'show license status'
Usage Reporting:
Last ACK received: May 03 07:46:42 2021 UTC
Next ACK deadline: May 03 07:46:42 2022 UTC <<<< 365 days
Unenforced/Non-Export Perpetual Attributes:
First report requirement (days): 365 (CISCO default)
Reporting frequency (days): 0 (CISCO default) <<<< Default policy should be no ACK deadline in case of no changes
Report on change (days): 90 (CISCO default)
Conditions
- Upgrading directly from a Traditional license based IOS-XE version, to a SLUP based IOS-XE version
- Having only Perpetual licenses previously installed
- Issue is seen after receiving ACK via Offline mode:

Further Problem Description
Cisco Smart Licensing Development will be making design changes in the future to change how the perpetual licenses are honored after a direct upgrade from Traditional licensing versions to SLUP based IOS-XE versions.
There should not be any impact in functionality when the next ACK deadline arrives. The functionality of the perpetual licenses should not be lost even after that date.
(Important)When using UC license like UCK9 license on 17.3.2,17.3.3,17.3.4a,17.4.x,17.5.x,17.6.1a, it's required to import ACK before Next ACK deadline, or SIP service will get shutdown once Next ACK deadline is expired.
