Symptom
New ASR-920-12CZ-A routers shipped with 16.9.3 are not able to detect USB drives .
When booting the device from rommon, the USB drive is detected, and after loading the IOS-XE from rommon the USB drive gets detected in the IOS-XE as well
If the router is rebooted without passing from rommon, it does not detect the USB drive again
Conditions
newly shipped ASR-920-12CZ-A, the problem is present since the first boot up
Workaround
break into rommon while booting the router. The USB drive is readable from rommon and you can load a new IOS-XE from the USB. Once booted from rommon the USB drives will be readable within IOS-XE.
Router reload without passing from rommon brings the problem back
Further Problem Description
Upgrading IOS-XE does not resolve this problem.
