Symptom
L3 Multicast traffic is flooded into Fabric from devices connected to Edge node with static ip's not matching ip address subnet assigned on respective Vlan/SVI.
Edge node does not perform source ip address check and encapsulate the L3 multicast under multicast group assigned for layer 2 flooding on the respective vlan and multicast replicate it to fabric.
If the multicast sources are sending multicast traffic at high rate, high cpu is observed on all Edge nodes and may cause IGP flapping.
Conditions
L2 Flooding enabled on Vlan.
Workaround
N/A
This enhancement request is to drop multicast traffic on Edge nodes if the source ip address check fails against the ip address of Vlan/SVI.
