Symptom

While performing ACL edits that require compilation the ASA will traceback: Below is the way to reproduce it: configure session XXX clear configure access-list YYY ?pasting via terminal: the new YYY ACL configuration? commit noconfirm As soon as this command is pasted - it sometimes not appear on the terminal, the terminal freezes, and the device hangs and shortly after a couple of seconds the device tracebacks and reloads as seen in console .

Conditions

"asp rule-engine transactional-commit access-group" and "forward-reference enable" enabled. The ASA will traceback and reload when making "configuration session" changes regarding an ACL.

Workaround

Refrain from using the command "configure session".
