1. Have 7.x and 9.x NXOS versions on USB 2. In loader, boot 7.x version from USB 3. Once successfully booted in 7.x, copy the 9.x image file from USB to bootflash via the "copy" command 4. Modify the boot statements from the 7.x image to the 9.x image using the "boot" command 5. Reload the switch to boot to the 9.x image
