Symptom
PE-1 Main Router reboots and after coming up, it sends an update to RR and it's taken as the best path for CE Router again instead of PE-2 Backup Router , even when PE-1 Router don't have the route information to CE Router, due to an EEM configured to shutdown interface connected to CE Router in case of Reboot.
Therefore traffic gets impacted. It will only recover if PE-1's uplink (Gi 0/0/0) is shutdowned and isolated from network again.
Conditions
This issue occurs when PE-1 Main Router recovers before bgp hold time gets expired.
Workaround
Configure an EEM to shutdown the uplink interface and isolate PE-1 Main Router from network as well, when Router gets rebooted.
