Symptom
SVI VIP is unreachable from devices connected to the switch module but reachable from devices connected on other interfaces. Self IPs however are still reachable.
Issue will be seen with both Autonomous and Controller enabled ISR4ks and possible impact to C8ks.
Conditions
Use of SM-X-16G4M2X/SM-X-40G8M2X, possible impact to C-SM-16G4M2X/C-SM-40G8M2X as well.
SVI config utilizing HSRP or VRRP, possible impact if using GLBP.
Device config was just added to the device or device recently reloaded.
This does not impact the NIM-ES2-# series switch modules
Workaround
Bouncing the interface or resetting interface from vManage GUI via "Tools" > "Operational Commands" > device impacted > "Reset Interface" > "VLAN#" > "Reset"
Further Problem Description
Problem is related to how the initial ARP and MAC propagation is handled putting the device into a state where the RP has the proper ARP entry for the SVI but the FP doesn't have a MAC associate to it.
How to validate SVI ARP/MAC entries:
