Symptom
A Catalyst 6500 series switch may print the following error logs after upgrading to 155-1.SY4 or later:
%IPC-2-NOBLOCK
%MFIB_IPC-3-MFIB_RP_FAILED_IPC_SEND
The log messages will be accompanied by a Traceback as well.
No other impact should be noted from this behavior.
Conditions
The switch must be booting into an impacted version of code.
Frequent PIM Asserts must be generated / received by the switch to increase the chance of hitting this issue.
This issue may be seen when upgrading to an impacted code release or when simply reloading into that code release.
