Symptom
When a user executes "show logging onboard kernel-trace", the following errors are thrown
switch # sh logging onboard kernel-trace > sh_log
gzip: /mnt/ftrace/ftrace-panic-1600163066.gz: invalid compressed data--crc error
gzip: /mnt/ftrace/ftrace-panic-1600163066.gz: invalid compressed data--length error
Conditions
Users may see the above messages on Nexus 9000 top of rack switches with NXOS version 9.3.5 when dumping kernel trace logs.
Further Problem Description
This issue indicates the full kernel trace log did not have time to save prior to system reload. Please note - only the tail end of the log is truncated, and kernel trace info is still present. Output from the command should still be collected and analyzed even in situations where the above messages are seen.
