Symptom

SFTP/SCP is not available as a supported file transfer method when upgrading/patching a Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) firewall via the "pullUpgradeImmediate" method from the FTD API. Attempting to use a URL for SFTP or SCP ("sftp://" or "scp://") results in an error.

Conditions

The use of Firepower Device Manager (FDM) or the FTD API to manage a Firepower Threat Defense firewall. Use of the "pullUpgradeImmediate" method from the FTD API to upgrade/patch the firewall.

Workaround

Use HTTP(S) or FTP as the file transfer method in the URL when using "pullUpgradeImmediate" from the FTD API.
