Symptom

Generating a PKCS12 certificate (including chain) when ISE is Intermediate CA throws an error: "An unexpected error occurred. Please contact the help desk for assistance."

Conditions

Issue when downloading in PKCS12 format (including certificate chain; one file for both the certificate chain and key) ISE as Intermediate CA. ISE 2.6, previous versions work fine.

Workaround

Use the other download options: PKCS12 format (one file for both certificate and key) Certificate in Privacy Enhanced Electronic Mail (PEM) format, key in PKCS8 PEM format (including certificate chain) Certificate in PEM format, key in PKCS8 PEM format Provide chain to users before going through certificate provisioning.
