Symptom
Traffic is not forwarding for one or more routes that are in the routing table, but not programmed correctly in hardware.
Conditions
Certain combinations of routes can trigger more than one route to point to the same TCAM index. Only route can be programmed at an index at a time, so whichever route was learned more recently will work and others will have traffic punted to the CPU and will be subject to CoPP rate limiting.
Workaround
- You can clear a route to force it to be programmed, but it may cause another to be misprogrammed
- Reloading the switch should fix issue temporarily, but if a route flaps issue may be triggered again.
