Symptom

ASR1000-RP3 experiencing a crash with the below logs generated (very rare). %IOSXE_INFRA-4-NO_PUNT_KEEPALIVE: Keepalive not received for 280 seconds %IOSXE_INFRA-4-NO_PUNT_KEEPALIVE: Keepalive not received for 300 seconds %IOSXE_INFRA-2-FATAL_NO_PUNT_KEEPALIVE: Keepalive not received for 300 seconds resetting The device might also enter a boot loop due to PUNT_KEEPALIVE failures.

Conditions

ASR1006-X or 1009-X with an ASR1000-RP3 engine running IOS-XE on all 16.x release.

Workaround

Hard reseat/OIR the ASR1000-RP3 module in the slot or fully power down / power on the chassis to stop the boot loop.
