Symptom

EVMS process may crash when the switch is accessing a file system which becomes unresponsive. ----- reset reason for module 9 (from Supervisor in slot 9) --- 1) At 905951 usecs after Reason: Reset triggered due to HA policy of Reset Service: SIGKILL failure of "evms" Version: ... After the reboot, you may a see a core from the evms process on the output of show core. They core may need to be retrieved from the linux shell if it did not make it to the logflash.

Conditions

Look for symptoms of the switch trying to write to a file, or a filesystem like bootflash or loglfash having issues prior to the log of evms crashing. Have the evms core file decoded by TAC to confirm this

Workaround

Make sure to have a logflash installed. If the issue is seen repeatedly, contact TAC to see if the issue can be solved with a software upgade or replacement of the bootflash/logflash.
