Symptom
Switches configured with IPDT, or using a feature that relies on IPDT (such as DHCP Snooping) may not learn IPv6 Addresses correctly in the Device-Tracking Database.
Additionally, the Ethernet Source MAC address of the IPDT Probe may be incorrect (using a non-existent MAC, rather than the SMAC of the physical interface)
Conditions
Seen on 3850 running 16.8.1, and 16.6.1-3
Workaround
Creating an SVI, even if shutdown, will resolve the incorrect MAC address issue. With this, the probe should be sourced from the SVI MAC
Issue is resolved in 16.6.4
