Symptom
A Nexus 7000 switch running 7.2(0)D1(1) F3 series line cards with MPLS/L3VPN could experience unexpected line card crashes due to signal 11 (segmentation fault) in the ipfib process:
SYSMGR-SLOT1-2-SERVICE_CRASHED: Service "ipfib" (PID 1213) hasn't caught signal 11 (core will be saved).
SYSMGR-SLOT1-2-SERVICE_CRASHED: Service "ipfib" (PID 29734) hasn't caught signal 11 (core will be saved).
Conditions
N7K running 7.2(0)D1(1) and F3 line cards with L3VPN. Sometimes, the following error messages are seen prior to the crashes:
