Symptom
Cisco IOS-XR ftp client will fail if FTP server sends multiline replies conforming to RFC 959 section 4.2
(Error opening source file): Permission denied
Conditions
FTP server sends multiline replies as per RFC 959 section 4.2.
Workaround
Disable multiline replies on the server
Further Problem Description
previously mentioned section 5.2 of RFC 2228 specifies a stricter method of multi-line responses when using response codes 6xz, "protected replies". This does not apply to this issue.
