Symptom
CSR1000v fails to pass traffic after upgrading VMWare ESXi to 5.5.0 patch 3a build 3116895.
Conditions
1. 'show log' reports device activation error
*Oct 17 07:47:43.934: %IOSXE-3-PLATFORM: R0/0: kernel: Failed to activate dev Gi3: error 1
2. 'show plat har qfp act data infra sw-nic' reports no device like below
PMAP info:

Workaround
No work-around.
The system does not support ESXi 5.5 update 3a until a workable solution is finalized
Further Problem Description
Changing interface type to E1000 or vmxnet2 will give the system the basic functionality i.e. common L3 forwarding etc. However these interface types are not officially supported, and they may fail in other applications.
