Symptom
MFIB shared memory is leaking on Trident linecard, leading to exhaustion of shared memory.
Conditions
This condition happens when
- TI-MOFRR feature is enabled.
- There are platform update failures (seen in mfib or mlib error traces on the Linecard)
This can happen when we have mixed Trident / Typhoon LCs in the system and we exceed the multicast scale limits of the Trident LC. This can also happen if there is a hardware error, leading to NP programming errors (on any LC type).
