Symptom
Satellite access ports drop traffic if the port is moved from a Virtual Interchassis Link (VICL) while the control channel is down between the host and satellite systems.
Conditions
Versions 5.2.2, 5.3.0
When the control channel is down from the host to the satellite, and a satellite access port is moved from a VICL (either to another VICL or to a physical ICL). The simplest example of this is when there is a single physical interface in a VICL, and the configuration is changed to move all the satellite access ports directly onto the physical interface.
Workaround
Have multiple physical interfaces in the VICL. Or, unconfigure the VICL first (in one configuration commit) and then reconfigure the new topology.
If the issue has been hit, execute satellite reload to recover from the issue.
