On a Nexus 3548 switch using NAT when creating a new translation the flow will be software forwarded until the translation is programmed in hardware, which could take a few seconds

Conditions

Using NAT and a new translation

Workaround

Create a loopback interface and give it an IP address that belongs to the NAT pool. While the translation is being programmed in hardware, the return traffic will be software switched instead of being dropped by control plane policing.
