Symptom

Unable to confure SNMP v3 to work with AES 256 on ISE 1.2. Changing AES encryption to 128 bits on NAD / ISE works. 256 bit encryption worked on ISE 1.1.4

Conditions

AES 256 does not work on ISE 1.2 and 1.1.X Error reporting was modified in 1.2 so condition reported as error in 1.2 even though not woking in 1.1.X as well.

Workaround

Use AES encryption of 128 bits
