General
PBB/PBB-VPLS feature relies on MIRP protocol running between PE routers to timely signal edge interface UP/DOWN status, so the remote PE can flush the MAC table accordingly. Without MIRP, customer traffic could be backholed for up to 5 minutes (or whatever the MAC aging time is set). This defect effectively block all MIRP frames from injecting into the core bridge domain.
Symptom
No MIRP frame is sent from PBB/PBB-VPLS PE router.
Conditions
When the core bridge domain id is non-zero, and when PBB/PBB-VPLS edge interface attached to the core bridge flaps (default trigger is interface UP, it can be configured to use interface DOWN as trigger).
Further Problem Description
No MIRP frame is received on remote PE since the local PE failed to send out MIRP frame into core bridge domain.
