Problem: ======= With NX-OS and EPLD image versions 6.1(1) and 6.1(2), EPLD upgrade fails on N7K M2 series linecard, "10/40/100 Gbps Ethernet Module (Model: N7K-M202CF-22L)". Condition: ========== 10/40/100 Gbps Ethernet Module is present in any N7K switch and when EPLD upgrade is performed using any of the "install epld" commands, with NX-OS versions either 6.1(1) or 6.1(2) and corresponding EPLD images. Symptoms: ======== 10/40/100 Gbps Ethernet Modules will fail to boot up and go to "powered-dn" state after completion of EPLD upgrade procedure. Retrieving EPLD versions... Please wait. Following EPLD images that have this issue have been recalled and removed from CCO: n7000-s1-epld.6.1.1.img n7000-s2-epld.6.1.1.img n7000-s1-epld.6.1.2.img n7000-s2-epld.6.1.2.img New EPLD images below that have the fix for this issue have been posted on CCO: n7000-s1-epld.6.1.1a.img n7000-s2-epld.6.1.1a.img n7000-s1-epld.6.1.2a.iimg n7000-s2-epld.6.1.2a.img Procedure to fix the "powered-dn" 10/40/100 Gbps Ethernet Modules: ================================================================ 1) Download the appropriate 6.1(1a) or 6.1(2a) EPLD image depending on the Supervisor type and version of NX-OS. 2) run "install module epld bootflash:epld_image" ( is the module number of the M2 100G module in "powered-dn" state). 3) If there is any prompt say "yes" to it. 4) After EPLD upgrade is successfully completed, go to "conf t" and power-up the module as follows: switch# conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. switch(config)# no poweroff module 5) Module should then come online.
