Symptom
if you attach a router to one nexus5k in a vpc pair, it will only create OSPF
association with the directly attached nexus and not the other nexus. This
happens if you carry the vlan on a separate trunk link between the nexus5k
devices and peer-gateway is on. OSPF will be stuck in EXSTART for the remote
Nexus5k
Conditions
- VPC must be configured
- peer-gateway must be configured
- vlan is carried on separate trunk not the vpc-peer link
Workaround
carry the vlan on the vpc-peer link. Separate link for nonvpc vlans on n5k is
not supported.
