Symptom

During traceroute timeout, external pings to that device fails.

Conditions

While Traceroute is running on a router R, ping to an IP address on router R from some other router will fai.

Workaround

Wait for traceroute to complete (or discontinue traceroute) on the router before retrying the ping to that router again.
