General
Symptom:
A Nexus 7000 running NX-OS Release 5.0(2) with the new 10 Gbps
Ethernet XL Module (N7K-M108X2-12L) may not be able to install all
learnt routes into the IPv4 or IPv6 Routing Information Bases (RIB).
Conditions:
This can occur when the shared memory size of the RIB is not large
enough to accomodate the required routes.
This will be especially like if an In-Service Software Upgrade has
taken place from NX-OS Release 4.2, as the default was 32 MB for IPv4,
and this has changed to 96 MB.
Workaround(s):
See the output of:
show routing [ipv6] memory estimate
with optional routes and next-hop parameters to estimate required
memory.
Then configure this size via the VDC config:
limit-resource u4route-mem maximum
size
A reload or switchover is needed to apply this command.
