Symptoms
Backup fails for Exchange DAG with error "Cannot authenticate the user: Permission denied"Command nsrnmmsv -P fails with:
181314:nsrnmmsv:Unable to initialize Exchange Management Powershell with configured Exchange Backup Username. Validate the Exchange Backup User using NMM Exchange Admin Configuration tool before proceeding.
117296:nsrnmmsv: Failed to list supported save sets.
Cause
After changing the Exchange admin account password, you must validate the user again on each node of the DAG.
Resolution
On each DAG node: Run the exchange Admin Tool as Admin -> configure user -> configure existing user -> put in the backup account (Dont add the domain here), and then put in the new password.Check the radio box to skip AD auth.Verify the settings by running an elevated cmd prompt and running:
nsrnmmsv -P
