When attempting to generate a token for an orchestrator endpoint under Pipelines -> Endpoints -> + New Endpoint -> Orchestrator -> Generate Token you see the error: Http failure response for https://<vrafqdn>/csp/gateway/am/idp/auth/login?access_token: 404 OK
There are two causes for the issue. Firstly users are prompted to use email address attribute which is incorrect. The username is required by this API call to get the token. Secondly the wrong URL is used by the code for the authentication call to the backend. The call is made to https://<vraAppliance>/csp/gateway/am/idp/auth/login?access_token when it should be made to: https://<vraAppliance>/csp/gateway/am/api/login?access_token
The issue is resolved in the Aria Automation 8.12.2 release
To workaround the issue you can use swagger or postman to manually generate the token as per https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/89129
