Host applications can use an app account to perform operations on HPE Integrated Lights-Out 7 (iLO 7) without iLO user credentials specified.However, when the system is a dual boot OS where one of the operating systems is VMWare ESXi, the app account cannot be used to perform operations on iLO 7.Host applications may fail when an app account is used to perform operations on iLO 7.
Any HPE system with iLO 7 that is a dual boot OS where one of the operating systems is VMWare ESXi and using any of the following: iLO RESTful Interface Tool (iLOrest), Integrated Smart Update Tools (iSUT), Smart Update Manager (SUM), or Agentless Management Service (AMS).
When using the no app account option where the iLO user credentials must be specified for the host applications to function, use the commands below provided by the applications:iLO Restful Tool (iLOrest):# ilorest login –no_app_account -u <iLO_user> -p <iLO_password>Integrated Smart Update Tools (iSUT):# sut -set ilousername=<iLO_user> ilopassword=<iLO_password>Agentless Management Service(AMS):# ./amsdCli set -u <iLO_user> -p <iLO_password>Refer to the host application user guide for more details on these commands.Note: The iLO user credentials need to be specified when the application restarts or when the system reboots in order for the applications to function.
