The HPE Edgeline Component Pack Version 2017.08.0 contains the following components for the HPE Edgeline EL1000 Converged Edge System: Windows: HPE Edgeline EL4000 and EL1000 Chassis Controller Firmware for Windows version 4.25 - cp032312.exe HPE Edgeline EL1000 PCIe and PXI Chassis Data for Windows version 0C - cp032313.exe Linux: HPE Edgeline EL4000 and EL1000 Chassis Controller Firmware for Linux version 4.25 - CP033095.scexe HPE Edgeline EL1000 PCIe and PXI Chassis Data for Linux version 0C - CP033101.scexe When updating any HPE Edgeline EL1000 Converged Edge System to these versions of the components, it is CRITICAL that they are installed in this order: HPE Edgeline EL4000 and EL1000 Chassis Controller Firmware version 4.25 HPE Edgeline EL1000 PCIe and PXI Chassis Data version 0C If this order is not followed, then the EL1000 may enter an infinite reboot loop. Once the EL1000 gets into the infinite reboot loop, there is no recovery. If this occurs, contact HPE so that the chassis can be returned and replaced. NOTE: If the EL1000 PCIe and PXI Chassis Data Firmware has already been updated to 0C but the EL1000 Chassis Controller Firmware is still at version 4.24 or earlier, do NOT update the EL1000 Chassis Controller Firmware at this time. HPE will be providing a workaround in the near future and this advisory will be updated at that time.
Any HPE Edgeline EL1000 Converged Edge System with HPE Edgeline EL4000 and EL1000 Chassis Controller Firmware version 4.24 (or earlier) and HPE Edgeline EL1000 PCIe and PXI Chassis Data version 0C (or earlier)
Currently, there is no solution for this issue. Once the EL1000 has been updated to: HPE Edgeline EL4000 and EL1000 Chassis Controller Firmware version 4.25 HPE Edgeline EL1000 PCIe and PXI Chassis Data version 0C In the proper order, the EL1000 is not at risk of experiencing the infinite reboot loop. If this order is not followed, then the EL1000 may enter an infinite reboot loop. Once the EL1000 gets into the infinite reboot loop, there is no recovery.
