- The Firmware update, Dell Update Package (DUP) installation fails on SLES with Secure Boot enabled. - The Installed firmware version is not visible in the OS after attempted upgrade. - No issues when Secure Boot is disabled; firmware installs successfully and is detected.
The failure occurs because the firmware update utility relies on kernel access to " /dev/mem ", which is restricted under Secure Boot and preventing installation.
A fix has been provided in DUP Firmware Version 234.1.146.0 along with Out Of Box (OOB) Linux drivers from the same release. **Workarounds:** Perform the firmware upgrade using the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) or the Lifecycle Controller (LC) with Secure Boot enabled. Alternatively, **disable Secure Boot** temporarily to upgrade the firmware from the OS.
